WM Fraser have a strong and direct relationship with our potato growers in England who are based down in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. All of our growers plant certified seed so they can grow consistent healthy and quality potatoes all year round.
We use English potatoes because they give the chip shops a much better fry in terms of colour. English chipping potatoes are an all round better frying potato due to the fertile and silt ground in the Fens which have a much better climate with more sunlight hours than Scotland. This all effects the frying colour of the chip, the paler the better!
The potatoes are planted, harvested, graded and then bagged before arriving up at WM Fraser to be distributed to our customers.
