Grampian Growers are pleased to announce the purchase of long-established chip shop supply business William Fraser Potato Merchants.
William Fraser supply potatoes to 80 chip shops all over Scotland from Elgin to Perth and run a fleet of three lorries as well as employing four members of staff all of which will now be based at our site in Montrose.
Over 50 tonnes of chipping potatoes from ware growers in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire will be brought to Montrose for distribution to the chip shops. Chipping varieties used include Maris Piper, Markies, Agria and Sagitta.
Grampian Growers already have strong relationships with some of the English growers as we already sell seed to some of the ware suppliers we will be buying from.
Jon Halliwell, who has managed William Fraser for the last 19 years, will now be employed by Grampian Growers and continue in his role from Montrose and has assured customers would see no change to any aspect of the first-class quality of the service they are used to.
